A meeting was held at the premises of the Archives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina between its Director, Mr. Sci. Hajrudin Ćuprija, and the Director of the Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Muamer Džananović. The meeting summarized the results of the cooperation achieved so far, defined possibilities for the development of interinstitutional activities, and established guidelines for joint work on new projects.
The primary focus of the discussion was the establishment of a systemic and institutional model for the preservation, protection, exchange, and digitization of war archival materials of interest to both institutions. Particular emphasis was placed on digitization as a key segment of modern archival practice and scientific research. In this context, Director Džananović was introduced to the work and technical capacities of the Digitization Center of the Archives of the Federation, while Director Ćuprija made the Center’s capacities available to the Institute, noting that they could support the Institute’s work and be beneficial to the broader academic and social community. It was emphasized that intensified cooperation would contribute to a more comprehensive scholarly understanding of wartime events, as well as to a broader societal understanding of the past.
On this occasion, Director Džananović presented the Archives of the Federation with valuable new publications issued by the Institute. It was concluded that future cooperation would be directed toward preserving historical truth, strengthening institutional capacities, and contributing to the academic and social community of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
