On March 18, 2026, at the Cultural Center in Sapna, a book launch was held for Zvornik 1992–1995: Genocide at the Gate of Bosnia, authored by Dr. Muamer Džananović and Dr. Elvedin Mulagić. The event was organized as part of the commemoration of Sapna Municipality Day and brought together representatives from the academic community, institutions, and the general public.
The book was presented by the promoters Prof. Dr. Ermin Kuka, Dr. Jasmin Medić, and Dr. Hikmet Karčić, who highlighted its significance from different scientific perspectives. It was emphasized that the book represents a valuable contribution to documenting and understanding the crimes committed in the Zvornik area during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it is based on extensive archival material and the results of ten years of empirical research by the authors. The importance of such a research approach was particularly stressed.
The promoters unanimously praised the authors’ dedication and enthusiasm, noting that they approached the investigation of the crimes in a systematic and scientifically grounded manner, thereby making a strong contribution to establishing the facts about the committed atrocities and countering historical revisionism.
In their address, the authors reflected on the multi-year research process, the challenges they faced, and the importance of institutional support in carrying out such demanding projects.
