On April 14, 2026, a book promotion for “The Jajce 305/705 Glorious Mountain Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina” was held at the Multimedia Hall Kovači in Sarajevo. The book is a recent publication by the University of Sarajevo – Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law and the Municipality of Jajce. The author is Dr. Amir Kliko, Senior Research Associate at the Institute.
The promotion was organized on the occasion of the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the University of Sarajevo – Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, the Ministry for Veterans’ Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Association for the Protection of the Achievements of the Struggle for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event gathered a large number of attendees, including representatives of the academic community, former members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as citizens interested in preserving the culture of remembrance and the wartime history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program took place in a dignified and emotional atmosphere, highlighting the importance and role of the 305/705 Glorious Mountain Brigade in the defense of the state.
The book was presented by Dr. Muamer Džananović, Director of the Institute, General Fikret Ćuskić, General Sakib Forić, and General Emir Kliko, who spoke about the significance of the book as well as the historical contribution of this brigade to the defense of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The promotion was opened with introductory remarks by Dr. Omer Osmanović, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton. At the end of the event, Major Halid Dedić, Commander of the 305/705 Glorious Mountain Brigade, addressed the audience, recalling the brigade’s wartime path and emphasizing the importance of preserving the truth about its role in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The author, Dr. Amir Kliko, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the realization of this work, emphasizing that the aim of the book was to preserve, in a scientifically grounded manner, the memory of the struggle and contribution of the brigade’s members.
The event was moderated by Elma Odobašić, and the promotion was enriched by a musical performance by Al Dino.
