This comprehensive scholarly work provides a thoroughly documented and analytical examination of the crimes committed in the Municipality of Zvornik during the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The book was recently published by the Institute for Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law of the University of Sarajevo.

The event is jointly organised by the University of Tuzla, the Tuzla and Zvornik Regional Boards of the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals, and the Institute for Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law of the University of Sarajevo.

The publication will be presented by Academician Mirko Pejanović, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Prof. Amir Karić, PhD, Rector of the University of Tuzla; Prof. Elmir Jahić, PhD, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tuzla and Director of the Bayer Medical Institute; and Prof. Sead Selimović, PhD, Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tuzla. The authors, Dr. Muamer Džananović, Director of the Institute for Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law, and Dr. Elvedin Mulagić, Research Associate at the Institute, will also address the audience. The event will be moderated by Erda Redžepagić, Professor of History and Editor of the Educational and Documentary Programme at RTV TK.

The book is the result of a ten-year empirical research project based on extensive archival materials, more than 200 original field video interviews with victims and witnesses, and several thousand structured questionnaires concerning persons who were killed or forcibly disappeared in the Zvornik area between 1992 and 1995. Published in two volumes comprising a total of approximately 1,400 pages, the work is organised into fifteen chapters and contains more than 4,500 footnotes, together with extensive appendices that include systematically compiled lists of victims, mass graves exhumed in the Zvornik area, and other relevant documentary materials.

The research provides a detailed analysis of the political, military, and police structures involved in the planning, coordination, and execution of the crimes, including the institutions of Serbia and Montenegro, the Serbian State Security Service, the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), paramilitary formations, the bureaucratic apparatus of the so-called "Serbian Municipality of Zvornik," and other actors.

A particularly significant part of the research is devoted to documenting war crimes and establishing the identities of the victims. The appendices contain basic biographical information and the circumstances surrounding the deaths or disappearances of 2,472 victims in the Municipality of Zvornik between 1992 and 1995, including 392 residents of Zvornik who were killed during the genocide in Srebrenica and its surrounding area.

The Tuzla book launch forms part of the broader public presentation of this significant scholarly publication, with the aim of contributing to the culture of remembrance, advancing academic understanding of the crimes committed, and preserving the historical record.
