A collection of papers from the international academic conference “Srebrenica 30 Years After the Genocide: Memory, Accountability and the Challenges of Denial” is currently in print. The conference was held in July 2025 in Sarajevo and Srebrenica, organized by the University of Sarajevo.
The collection is being published by the University of Sarajevo – Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law.
The papers in the collection are published in Bosnian or English. Across four thematic sections, they address, among other topics, the conceptual, historical and historiographical aspects of the genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina; legal issues, evidence and the shaping of judicial truth; contemporary forms of genocide denial and the politics of memory; international responses; as well as testimony, the culture of remembrance and education about genocide.
The contributors are Ben Kiernan, Marko Attila Hoare, Norman M. Naimark, Zilha Mastalić Košuta, Rosa Aloisi, Jayden Salter, Muamer Džananović, Jasmin Medić, Mujo Begić, Edina Bećirević, Benjamin Valentino, Kim Sadique, Rafiki Ubaldo, Hikmet Karčić, Ben Gerstein, Hariz Halilovich, Sarina Bakić, and Hasan Nuhanović.
The collection was edited by Dr. Zilha Mastalić Košuta, Senior Research Associate at the Institute. The foreword was written by Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, and Dr. Muamer Džananović, Director of the Institute.
The collection is indexed in the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL).
