On April 2, 2026, representatives of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Norway visited Višegrad, accompanied by more than 70 members of a youth network from that country. The delegation was led by Edin Mezit, Dr. Faruk Terzić, and Velisa Salihović.
One of the hosts was Prof. Dr. Ermin Kuka, a scientific advisor at the Institute for Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law of the University of Sarajevo, who delivered an appropriate lecture. During his address, Prof. Kuka introduced those present to the most important information about the mass and individual crimes committed against Bosniaks in Višegrad at the beginning of the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in 1992. He especially emphasized the importance of documenting crimes and the role played by the Institute through its long-standing scientific research work. He concluded his presentation with an appeal to young people to remember the information they had heard and share it with their peers in Norway, both those whose parents are from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Norwegians, thereby contributing to the affirmation of a culture of remembrance.
On this occasion, the guests were presented with the book “Genocide against Bosniaks in Višegrad 1992–1995”, as well as other publications of the Institute.
